  • I played soccer for 25 years. If my knees allowed I would still be playing. My new interest is bouldering.

  • I can wiggle my ears simultaneously and independently.

  • My comfort show is How I Met Your Mother. I’ve re-watched all 9 seasons 4 times.
  • I met Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson when I was 8 (I was a WWF fan. Don’t ask me why.) He signed my beanie baby. 
  • If you met me before the age of 22 I go by and refer to myself as Lizzie.
  • My ideal retirement plan is to own a ranch near the mountains where I rehabilitate and train dogs who have been abandoned or abused.

Professional background

I’m a Chicago-native based in Oslo, Norway with formal training in psychology [Bachelor of Science] and design [Master of Arts]. I’ve spent the last 8 years working across the full gamut of design ranging from interiors to graphic, branding and web to UX. During this time I have enjoyed a myriad of creative problems, learnings and professional relationships but one thing that has remained constant is my passion for finding ways to coalesce function and form in the human experience. I believe that the devil is in the details and the details are what make up our experiences but simultaneously adopt a mindset of ‘done is better than perfect because perfect does not exist.’ 

Currently,  I’m the UX Design Lead for Dolittle AS, a tech start-up in Lysaker, working to enhance the developer experience when it comes to building and managing applications. Our product enables businesses to integrate existing data in their ERP systems with new applications and then manage those applications using our platform, Dolittle Studio. 

As design lead, I am responsible for driving the Dolittle Studio experience via user research, ideation, user flows and user feedback. I work closely with the developers and product owner to validate our work while striving to meet OKRs and ensure our core value proposition meets our customer and user needs. I, along with two developers, are also responsible for spearheading the creation, maintenance, and adoption of our design system using MUI as our base component library and creating custom components when necessary to meet our design needs. I evangelize user driven design and strive to highlight the importance of consistency in our user experience in hopes to build and maintain a design culture within our core team.  

FOR FUN

In my spare time...

I’m working on an indy project with a solo-developer – designing a financial tracking app for the F.I.R.E. [financially independent retire early] community. I also volunteer my graphic design skills for the American Society of Interior Designers where I create event invites and marketing materials.

When I’m not designing I do whatever I can to get out and explore the great outdoors. I enjoy drawing (more like doodling) and recently started getting into coding, primarily JavaScript… for now. I enjoy photography, using Instagram as my medium. I love travel, sci-fi books, bouldering, whiskey, running, and soccer and lately I seem to be addicted to logic puzzles. But currently, my life revolves around our newest family member, Loki, a beautiful golden retriever.
